Who You Are You are an experienced social worker with a strong understanding of permanence planning and the ability to build positive relationships with families. Proficient in English, both written and spoken, you have a track record in working with cases from proceedings through to adoption and other forms of permanence. You're skilled in using the Signs of Safety practice model, understand child development and various social work theories, and can apply them to real-world situations. You embrace a challenge and can make informed decisions in complex, uncertain environments. With a relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, you are committed to ongoing professional development. A valid driver’s license is essential for this role. What the Job Involves This role requires you to manage a caseload involving children in need of care and protection, focusing on nurturing their long-term stability. You'll engage with children and families across diverse and complex contexts, regularly visiting and working creatively to assess needs, develop plans, and ensure their safety. Your duties include conducting holistic assessments, coordinating with multi-agency partners, and implementing and reviewing safety plans. You'll undertake court work and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Additionally, you are expected to maintain detailed case notes, engage in supervision sessions, and participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities, all while adhering to council policies and safeguarding responsibilities.
