JOB POSITION: Steelwork Engineer on site for the Hinkley Point C project.
KEY INFORMATION:
· From 3 to 6 years of experience,
· Energy industry experience required (Oil&Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Offshore…), Nuclear preferred,
· Coordination, open point, problem solving...,
· Design, calculation, mechanical experience,
· Knowledge of FEA design software,
· 2D and 3D CAD software, Eurocode 2.

LOCATION: Bridgewater, UK.
EXPERTISE:
Context: As part of its scope of delegation, JDO (Joint Design Office) provides technical support at the HPC EPR site for the resolution of the various problems arising during the construction phases and later during the testing and commissioning operations.
Main Activities: The position of Steelwork engineer aims at support the field design activities for the steelwork discipline on the Nuclear Island and mainly manage design modification or clarification raised before and during on-site construction.
The increase of capacity is here to acknowledge the expected rise of requests number due to increase in Steelwork structures delivery and construction along with MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, Heating) construction and assembly.
The main activities are expected to be based on calculation verifications, layout impact analyses along with the Layout Team and drawings markups in collaboration with the Design Office.
Key Relationships: Activities will be highly interfaced within JDO and other JDO teams. Note that, should the need rise, Back Office teams may as well be solicited, i.e. interfaces expected with EPR-E teams in Bristol and Edvance teams in Paris.
Qualifications :
• Experience in the management of transverse technical topics,
• Experience in civil or MEH construction is a bonus,
• Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, organisation, writing ability,
• Good organizational, writing and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realization of the activities of document production, steering and interfaces with the various correspondents,
• Ability to prioritise, to manage numerous interfaces, to question and understand the imperatives of other downstream/ interfacing disciplines. Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Desirable Software and Tools:
For 2D and 3D design softwares:
* Navisworks, PDMS, TEKLA, AUTOCAD (or knowledge in similar 3D, 2D software application);
For FEA design softwares,
* RSTAB knowledge (or similar 3D SW calculation software).
