The role of Head of Accounting & Financial Control is really important to us. You will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of one of our business units, managing a team to ensure the financial health of the associated entities. Role can be based in Crewe or Belfast.
Your responsibilities day to day will be...
* Manage, mentor and develop a team of 17 with 3 direct reports across 3 sites as the #1 in Finance.
* Monthly presentation of consolidated financial results, noting key movements and variances.
* Reviewing and ensuring a strict control environment around balance sheet schedules and cash flow statements.
* Internal business partner to Sales, Operations and Credit, helping to design, implement and manage processes to support the ongoing improvement and simplification of the business.
* Financial sign-off for any ad-hoc sales opportunities or large customer credits, ensuring process alignment and revenue recognition.
* Support and feed into the annual budgeting cycle (overheads), ensuring robust, measurable, driver-based forecasts in place.
* Drive and implement transformation projects as part of ongoing integration and simplification of the business unit.
* Support, challenge and drive revenue assurance processes to minimise leakage.
* Responsibility for annual audit process, working with our group team and external auditors.
Experience / qualifications required:
* ACA / CIMA / ACCA Qualified Accountant.
* Experience operating at a senior level, either acting as a #1 in Finance or ready to take that next step, in a fast-paced SME, or division as part of a larger group.
* Able to demonstrate management and improvement of a Financial Control environment in a growth business.
* Experience in a multi-entity organisation preferable.
* Ability to clearly articulate the financial results and position of the business.
* Demonstrate development and growth of a strong Finance team.
* Hands-on, logical approach and ability to challenge the norm to create incremental improvements.
