An exciting opportunity has become available for an exceptional Music Teacher to join our progressive and supportive Music Department in the Early Learning Centre and Preparatory School. This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity for Term 4 2024 and Term 1 & 2 2025.
The College's music program is an integral part of College life for all boys, and we are seeking an outstanding Music Teacher who is passionate about contributing to a T-12 Music journey for boys at Scots. The successful candidate will work closely with our Music Team to develop a world-class music education for boys across all campuses, mainly our Early Years Centre and the Early Learning Centre (3-7 years old).
Essential to the role
* Qualification in Music Education
* Experience with and / or training in Early Childhood Education
* Current accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
* Demonstrated delivery of effective teaching and learning programs, fostering an inclusive and challenging learning environment
* Demonstrated experience delivering quality co-curricular music experiences
* Propensity to infuse a Christian ethos into teaching practice
* Commitment to one's own ongoing learning, in alignment with the development directions of the Department
* Training and experience in the Kodaly, Orff-Shulwerk, or Dalcroze methodologies
* Skills in choral direction for children
* Professional and personal integrity
* Being proactive and innovative
* Be a confident and collaborative team player and an excellent communicator
Desirable to the role
* Awareness of and preferably experience with the Reggio Emilia approach
* Functional instrumental skills
