Job summary The Imaging Department at UHNM is a busy department providing both general and specialist services in diagnostic and interventional imaging. It is a large department which carries out over 700,000 examinations every year. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Haematology/Oncology and Uroradiology imaging, to join a team of 20 body radiologists in a busy, dynamic department. We have a total of 48 WTE radiology consultants delivering first class emergency and non-acute services. Of these, 20 are body imaging consultants specialising in cardiothoracic, GI, GU, breast, haematology/oncology and gynae imaging; together they support a busy body emergency radiology on-call. Frequency is 1:20 weekdays and 1:10 weekend days (Saturday or Sunday). We are a Level 1 trauma centre and participating in the body on call rota will bring great exposure to all sorts of emergency imaging. The successful candidate will support a network of local and regional services comprising allied clinicians, surgeons, histopathologists and oncologists, all working together to deliver a high quality, evidence based, patient centred service. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will contribute a mix of Haematology, general oncology and Uroradiology diagnostic reporting sessions and MDT contribution. There will be a weekly in-patient CT reporting session and contribution to the body on call rota as detailed above. There will be opportunities for regular body US lists and protected resident doctor teaching time. About us The University Hospital is the main teaching hospital for the Keele University Undergraduate Medical School and there are close ties with the University of Keele and Staffordshire University. UHNM is a standalone training scheme (a part of West Midlands School of Radiology). There is a high level of skill-mix within the department and teaching and training of radiographers and junior radiologists is at the forefront. Every year, there are 7 junior radiologists joining the department for their training. We currently have 37 trainees at all levels and new training facilities.
