The inclusive mainstream North Leigh, Witney based Primary School is recruiting for a full-time role with a KS2 Year 6 student with additional ASD needs. You will be responsible for group support to develop his confidence, motor skills, and academic studies. He is in a classroom setting, and the school is encouraging his independence. He is supported as part of a small group including a student with Cerebral Palsy.
Supporting Primary-aged children with SEN - ASD and Cerebral Palsy challenges, as well as general safeguarding for all students, is a key aspect of this role.
Are you a suitable candidate for the KS2 ASD Teaching Assistant position to support children with disabilities and other challenges?
In this role, you will build frontline, practical experience with young people with significant needs and learn to understand how to communicate and support them through the help of trained professionals and experienced team members. You will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs such as Cerebral Palsy and ADHD.
The school is looking for a proactive and adaptable SEN TA who can use their own initiative. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable.
The children in this school require a KS2 ASD Teaching Assistant who understands their complex needs and is open-minded and up for a challenge. Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family. Level 3 qualifications and a degree would be most desirable.
