Engineering Administrator
Location: Stafford, Staffordshire.
Company: Engineering Business.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits.
Working Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm (Monday – Friday).
A successful, Stafford based engineering business is offering an excellent opportunity to join their team within the role of Engineering Administrator. Providing engineered solutions for a vast array of industries, this business has a well-established flow of business allowing for fantastic job security and future role progression.
The Administrator role sits within the administration/engineering team with a focus on providing customers with excellent routine servicing, customer care, and management of equipment upkeep contracts. Strong organisational capability and the ability to ensure clear communication across departments and with end clients is key for this role.
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of engineering principles, potentially coming from a ‘hands-on’ background or with experience of liaising with clients/customers on engineering queries.
Committed to helping ensure the success of the recruit, full product training is provided. This role will suit a candidate with experience working in a general engineering or manufacturing business. Future progression opportunities into Project Engineering and Management are in the pipeline.
Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and processing customer servicing orders.
2. Ensuring planned maintenance and servicing is fulfilled on time, within budget, to scope, and to full customer satisfaction.
3. Facilitating and organising both planned and reactive service calls.
4. Assigning engineers to service visits, arranging the hire of access equipment, and processing service visit reports.
5. Liaising with engineers on site, ensuring full communication and understanding of required service work.
6. Facilitating comprehensive reports of work carried out.
7. Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure work is within project scope and appropriately issued.
8. Providing technical/engineering updates to clients to ensure they understand the scope of work.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Engineering Administration/customer support experience.
2. Experience within a general engineering or manufacturing environment.
3. Basic Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering knowledge.
4. Strong organisation, communication, and time management skills.
5. Excellent communication ability with experience of customer-facing roles.
