Role: Support Worker
Location: Crawley
Salary / Rate of pay: £11.75 to £12.20 per hour
Job Overview:
Support Worker with experience working with adults with both learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, or Acquired Brain Injury.
2. Promote a person-centered approach to support planning and reviewing individual needs.
3. Deliver general care and support based on assessed individual requirements.
4. Assist customers with personal care, medication needs, and access to healthcare.
5. Support customers in attending daytime activities, appointments, and community facilities.
6. Help customers maintain and develop relationships with families, friends, and professionals.
7. Assist with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
8. Encourage social skills and promote independence.
9. Support customers with financial management as agreed.
10. Ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
11. Facilitate decision-making and accountability in best interest decisions.
12. Maintain high standards of support promoting positive behavior and well-being.
13. Work effectively within the team and with relevant stakeholders.
14. Work shifts including sleeping in and waking night duties as per rota.
15. Comply with policies and procedures ensuring the well-being of service users.
16. Maintain confidentiality regarding service users, records, and staff.
17. Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
18. Act as a keyworker if necessary.
19. Report maintenance and security issues to Head Office.
20. Undertake domestic chores to maintain property standards.
21. Deliver services with respect and commitment to equal opportunities.
22. Meet Health and Safety requirements of the Company and the Law.
23. Comply with protocols and policies to promote health and safety.
24. Perform other duties as required by the Service Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Understanding of the rights of people with disabilities.
2. Able to work well as a team member.
3. Competent in basic mathematics and written skills.
4. Willingness to learn and undertake training.
5. Ability to take responsibility for customer well-being and safety.
6. Demonstrate resilience and initiative in the role.
