Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor for one of our prestigious clients. The Warehouse Shift Supervisor is based at their Stoke-on-Trent site. The Role reports to the Warehouse Manager Stoke-on-Trent and is part of a relatively small team. The site Operates 24hrs for 5 days and 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday, with possibilities to work more weekend hours if required. Currently there are 2 Warehouse ‘loading’ shifts. These are currently 5am-1pm and 1pm-9pm, however the shift patterns remain flexible to meet demand. The warehouse team also works alongside production hours in the transportation of stock from production into the warehouse working with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures. These are currently ‘Mornings 6am - 2pm’ and ‘Lates’ 2pm-10pm’ which rotate weekly. The Warehouse Supervisor takes responsibility for all aspects of the warehouse activities including resourcing as appropriate. Each Warehouse shift Supervisor takes responsibility for approximately 7 people on each shift covering both production and loading. Shift patterns will always vary according to business need. The Warehouse Shift Supervisor is responsible for liaising and communication across many departments on a day to day basis. The role is very much ‘the centre of the Logistics arena’ and will liaise as necessary with, Sales, Planning, Supply Chain, HSE, Quality, Transport (internal Administration and external) and Production The Warehouse Shift Supervisor will ensure the availability of skills and resources to deliver day to day plans in line with business strategy and KPI’s. The successful candidate will have Education level & general experience: • Good level of secondary education – A Levels preferred • Continuous Improvement tools and techniques – Six sigma Yellow/Green belt or equivalent an advantage • Experience in working/leading or supporting a 24hr operation • Conversant with IT systems including Microsoft, SAP or similar is required. WMS would be advantageous • Previous responsibility in a Supervisory level for inventory accountability and accuracy Technical knowledge/ expertise: • Experience of COMAH site is preferred • Practical working knowledge of ‘Lean’ and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques • Experience in warehouse operations flexibility and layout. • Fully capable to interrogate electronic systems to understand ‘flow’ and inventory accountability. • Fully conversant with principals of delivering KPI’s and OTIF, whilst adopting Continuous Improvement methodology.
