This full-time, temporary-to-permanent role is an excellent opportunity to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with learning, behaviour, and emotional development, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will help create a structured and engaging learning experience tailored to the needs of each student. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, adaptable, and passionate about working with young people. While prior experience in a similar setting is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs. Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the direction of the class teacher. Support students with communication, behaviour management, and social skills development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement individual learning plans. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare and well-being of all students. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working with SEND students is desirable but not essential. A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting students. Strong communication and teamwork skills. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
