Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimise therapeutic outcomes. The Pharmacist will play a crucial role in educating patients about their medications and managing medication therapy in various settings, including intensive care units (ICU).
Duties
1. Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
2. Provide expert advice on medication administration, potential side effects, and interactions.
3. Conduct medication reviews to ensure appropriate therapy for patients, particularly those in critical care settings.
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
5. Educate patients on the proper use of medications, including dosage, frequency, and potential side effects.
6. Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
7. Monitor patient responses to medications and make necessary adjustments in collaboration with the healthcare team.
8. Stay current with developments in pharmacology and participate in continuous professional development activities.
Experience
1. A degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution is required.
2. Previous experience in Pharmacy is preferred and a strong desire to provide services.
3. Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and medication administration practices is essential.
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and healthcare professionals.
5. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a patient-centred approach.
