Making a difference from day one is key to what we offer so keep reading about this graduate opportunity and apply today About the role We are looking for a Graduate Planner with an interest in the water industry to work with our delivery team helping to deliver a growing workload for our client, Severn Trent Water in Midlands area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an exciting and growing team on a variety of programmes covering clean water and wastewater networks infrastructure. As a Graduate Planner you will support the delivery team in learning to build a delivery programme in accordance with the contract. You will work very closely with the client and operational colleagues to drive efficient delivery programmes for standard schemes. You will split your time between working in the Birmingham office, making occasional site visits and working from home. You will collaborate with the team, the Senior Planning Manager to ensure successful programmes. This role is a September 2025 start. What a typical day could look like Develop logic linked programmes comprising the design, construction and commission. Produce programmes, reports and/or extract schedules using customised filters as required by the project team. Be able to indicate any deviation from the baseline programme. Attend progress meetings with internal and external customers and develop the ability to deliver presentations on project progress. Understand how to produce contract deliverables as required. Identify, communicate and add key programme risks to the risk register. Perform continuous project integrity checks to ensure the integrity of the programme. Work with the delivery team to understand how to ensure programmes allow for accurate forecasts to completion. Support the Senior Planning Manager with any adhoc requests. About you We want our graduates to challenge the status quo, encourage different points of view and drive creativity as well as bring insights from your education and life experiences to the role; you will be empowered to make a difference. You should be agile, resilient and ready to take on real industry challenges. We would like you to be graduating in 2025 or have recently graduated and hold at least a 2:2-degree qualification. You will be computer literate, have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team. We would also like you to be organised, self-driven and have good attention to detail with a desire to keep on developing. A degree in either Civil Engineering or a degree which has strong analytical/data elements would benefit this role.
