Ideally we are looking for an Occupational Therapist with dual professional competencies (or a willingness to acquire) to work generically and have experience of performing rapid functional and mobility assessments, prescribing equipment and describing patient needs.
General day-to-day tasks involve chasing up or ordering equipment, reviewing function and transfers to support package of care selection, manual handling queries and problem-solving transport/access issues.

The Occupational Therapist will work closely with the DAU team of nursing staff, Health Care Assistants, Discharge Support Officers, Discharge Support Leads, doctors, pharmacists, and volunteers.
Social services teams from both Derby City and Derbyshire councils are based on the unit and the post holder will liaise regularly with them to support and facilitate discharge plans and answer queries.
