Post Office Counter Assistant
Various hours possible, Monday – Saturday
We are looking for a Post Office Counter Customer Service Assistant to join our team based within our Hartcliffe convenience store. Established for over 30 years, we are an independent business who can offer you a welcoming and rewarding place to work.
The position
Our Post Office Counter helps a range of local customers undertake their day-to-day banking, pay bills, buy currency, as well as post parcels and letters.
As a trusted member of the team, you will be responsible for your own till, greeting customers, cash handling, taking card transactions, offering postal options, preparing mail for collection, stock taking and offering a helping hand where needed in the shop.
Various shift options available, usually between 4 to 8 hrs per day, operational hours between 9am and 7pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.
As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:
* Greet and serve customers.
* Handle cash and process card transactions.
* Advise customers on the best mail services for their needs.
* Learn about new products and services we can offer.
* Be diligent with security processes and compliance procedures.
* Declare cash and print reports.
* Maintain till area, ensure cleanliness and visual merchandising standards.
* Support colleagues.
Successful applicants will have the following criteria:
* Experience of serving customers in retail, banking or FX.
* An honest personality who is reliable, friendly and works with integrity.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience of working in a Post Office, retail bank, currency exchange, or money transfer shop.
* Supervisor level experience, including cashing-up, keyholder, training and mentoring others.
