Our Graduate Programme
Our two-year graduate scheme will start your journey to becoming a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, giving you the opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and equip you with the skills that you need to begin a successful career in design and engineering.
You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day.
Your Principal Responsibilities
As a Graduate Engineer in our Civil and Structural team, you’ll be producing civil and structural designs to deliver projects which meet the needs of end users and meet our clients’ specifications. You’ll be working with a team including other disciplines to produce safe, efficient, sustainable and buildable solutions.
You’ll contribute to projects through preparing calculations both manually and using industry recognised software, working with technicians to produce sketches and CAD drawings and ensure that your design meets our high standards. Depending on your project, you may also visit sites and conduct site surveys.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for individuals with a passion for Civil and Structural Engineering and ideally have or are working towards achieving a Masters degree in a relevant engineering degree.
You will have a keen interest in major electrical infrastructure projects and have a desire to play a part in producing sustainable designs to help meet the challenge of achieving climate change targets and protecting our environment.
You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first.
Due to the recent changes to salary thresholds set by UKVI, BakerHicks graduate positions do not meet the requirements to support new entrant visa sponsorship. Therefore, all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by various factors. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance for this role as required by our clients and sectors.
