Job Title: School Chef
Location: New Barn School,Newbury
Salary: £20,514 perannum
30 hours per week;Monday to Friday
Contract:Permanent, Term Time only

About the role
To beresponsible for the planning and preparation of high quality foodand catering service to the Centre. To manage and supervise allkitchen staff.
Key task areas andresponsibilities
* To plan menus for the Centre with reference tothe dietary needs of the Service Users
* To undertake the monitoring of stocks by daterotation, portion control and quality and in accordance with thebudgetary controls set
* Toset up and clean down the kitchen areas before and after day to dayuse
* To ensure thatnecessary preparation is undertaken for the day/weekly demand/needsof the Centre
* To beobservant of the need to minimise waste
* To provide suitable food to staff/Service Userswith special dietary requirements
* Check daily any visitor, staff, Service Usermeal time requirements
* Topersonally observe all measures relating to Health and Safety,hygiene and food hygiene requirements
* To report on any equipment or maintenancerequirements
* To prepare andplace food orders and to deal with any enquiries and complaints tosuppliers
* To ensure thatsupplies are ordered and are properly checked on delivery and thatinvoices are accurate
* Toensure all equipment and chemicals are used and handled correctlyat all times, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions andCOSHH Regulations
* To keeprelevant records and reports accurate and up todate

NewBarn School offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculumto boys and girls, aged 6–19 years who have Social, Emotional andMental Health complexities.
