Senior Systems Engineer – South West London - £65,000
A highly successful SME retail business with offices based in South West London is looking for a personable Senior Systems Engineer to join them. As the Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to end-users, maintaining and administering servers and systems, and managing network infrastructure, both on-prem and in the Cloud. Key Responsibilities:
1. End user tech support; troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
2. Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, software applications, and peripheral devices locally and via Intune/Autopilot.
3. Managing on-prem Hyper-V and VMware clusters and Azure VMs (Virtual Machines), and monitoring server performance, security, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
4. Working across application administration and network management.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this Systems Engineer role will have experience in technical support, server administration, and network management in a commercial environment. You will have proven experience with Windows server environments including on-prem virtualization and Cloud, and strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching across multiple sites and in the Cloud.
Key Skills Required:
1. Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving abilities.
2. A love of everything “tech” and a strong drive to perfect how technology is implemented using best practices.
3. Strong understanding of cybersecurity and practices.
4. Experience managing and maintaining virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
5. Experience maintaining a hybrid environment with Active Directory, Entra ID, M365, and Azure.
6. Experience managing and maintaining networks across multiple sites and in the Cloud.
7. Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The salary on offer for this role is up to £65,000 plus benefits including 25 days holiday, bonus, and contributory pension scheme.
