Exciting opportunity for a part-time Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly South London general practice. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), you have been assessed as competent in practice using your expert clinical knowledge and skills. You will be conscious of your freedom and authority to act and make autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
At ICO Health Group, we are using a tool called Doctaly Assist which allows us to use WhatsApp to help patients to be seen faster by a wider variety of healthcare professionals. Doctaly Assist is a platform that allows our patients to use WhatsApp to talk to the GP practice. The majority of our appointments are now made through this platform and also is used for chronic condition reviews.

Main duties of the job
As an ANP, you will provide an opportunity for patients to avoid the need to be referred to a GP, thereby enabling them to receive timely care and negate unnecessary delay in receiving treatment.
Job responsibilities
The ANP will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, telephone triage, and home visits.
The post holder will use skills, knowledge, and competencies as a qualified Advanced Health Care Professional in order to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads for treatments, referral, admission, and discharging patients as appropriate.
1. Work as part of our multi-disciplinary team alongside our GPs, pharmacists, practice nurses, and HCA to deliver safe and high-quality care.
2. Carry out clinical practice at an advanced level using expert clinical skills, critical judgments & knowledge to deliver appropriate and safe care.
3. Delivery of care in line with NSF, NICE guidelines, and evidence-based care.
4. Triage and treat patients, performing specialist assessment of their needs and make referrals as necessary to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as appropriate.
5. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan.
6. Request diagnostic investigations and interpret within agreed protocols e.g. x-ray, blood tests, scans, etc.
7. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in practice premises or their own home who require medical attention and/or refer to appropriate agency.
8. Prescribing and reviewing medication that is appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with latest evidence-based practice, national and practice protocols and within the scope of qualified practice.
9. Refer patients to other members of the multi-disciplinary practice teams, secondary care organisations, and other organisations as necessary.

Experience
* Experience of practice within the four pillars.
* Job plan that demonstrates advanced nursing practice and has equity with peers working at this level.
* Experience of prescribing and undertaking medication reviews.
* Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse.
* Experience of working in a primary care environment.
* Experience of working in a GP practice.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council.
* Masters degree required for qualification post December 2020 refer to RCN Credentialing for Advanced Level of Nursing Practice.
* Post graduate diploma or degree for Advanced Practice Qualification up to December 2020.
* Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register.
* Meets NMC revalidation requirements in accordance with the NMC Revalidation booklet.
* Meets the standards for registered ANP working at advanced level.
* Full driving license and own car.
* Qualified triage nurse.
* Teaching qualification.
* ALS and PALS.
