Audit Manager

Managers in our Audit division are required to lead teams on a range of Audit assignments. This role is focussed on corporate entities, with international and domestic companies and groups and listed business making up a large part of our client portfolio.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform audits from planning, fieldwork & completion within agreed budget for the assignment, taking on responsibility for ownership and completion of each audit assignment.
2. Act as the principal contact for the client during the on-site fieldwork and follow up on client queries once on-site work is completed.
3. Manage on-site teams and assist in the supervision and development of more junior staff, providing training where appropriate and ensuring work is appropriately allocated according to the team members' abilities.
4. Review statutory financial statements for clients, generally from the client’s management accounts.
5. Research technical issues that arise and provide potential solutions for review by Partners/Directors.
6. Adhere to deadlines, including prompt notification to the partner where problems are likely to arise or as they arise on each assignment.
7. Identify where other experts in the firm can provide relevant services to respond to client business needs.
8. Manage work in progress and billing on client assignments.
9. Undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
10. Experience in working with complex groups, reporting structures and liaising with component auditors is highly desirable.

Technical skills, experience & knowledge:

1. Able to provide practical, proactive business advice for clients, while referring more significant or challenging control issues to the partner.
2. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of business cycle controls, recognising the audit risks and business implications where controls are absent, ineffective, or inefficient.

Required Qualifications:

1. CCAB body membership, e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, AICPA.
2. Ensures adequate CPD is undertaken in relevant disciplines/client sectors.

Client relationships: Develop a practical awareness of the clients’ operations and ensure that the day-to-day delivery of the work runs smoothly and escalate any issues, if necessary.

Client care & adding value: Ensure all client requests are dealt with promptly and that any issues are raised quickly and dealt with efficiently and effectively.

Business Development: When required, be involved in pitch preparation and business development meetings, taking the opportunity to shadow and learn from more experienced colleagues.
