Warehouse Supervisor
As a warehouse supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the warehouse and ensuring efficient management of resources, personnel, and workflows. In this role, you will focus on leading and developing the warehouse team, ensuring operational efficiency, managing inventory accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company policies on safety, quality, and performance standards. Ability to implement 5s within the area is a must.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, train, and develop a team of warehouse staff, including Warehouse Lead Operators and Operators, to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards. Foster a positive and productive working environment, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Develop and implement strategies to optimise warehouse processes, improve space utilization, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Lead projects related to warehouse optimisation and cost-saving initiatives.
* Oversee all aspects of inventory management, ensuring accurate record-keeping, stock rotation (FIFO), and timely stock replenishment. Ensure inventory levels are consistently maintained to meet production and dispatch demands.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations, such as order accuracy, dispatch timeliness, and stock integrity. Regularly report on warehouse performance to management and suggest improvements.
* Work closely with the Production, Supply Chain, and Technical teams to coordinate and align warehouse activities with production schedules and customer demands. Serve as a key liaison between the warehouse and other departments.
* Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits, enforce PPE use, and uphold the company's Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
* Proactively identify operational bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or risks, and develop solutions to improve warehouse workflows and reduce errors. Implement 5S and other process improvement methodologies where needed.
Experience / Skills
* Reach Truck / Forklift truck / Electric Pallet Stacker license.
* Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role in a warehouse environment.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in training, motivating, and developing teams.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of warehouse software (ERP, WMS) and proficiency in MS Office.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
* Ability to analyse data and provide insightful reports on warehouse performance and operations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
