SEN Support Staff Role
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Unit at a partner school in Small Heath. This rewarding role involves working closely with children who have a variety of learning and additional needs, helping them to reach their full potential.

- Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support for pupils with learning, physical, or emotional needs.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and class teachers to implement personalised learning plans and interventions.
- Assist in creating and delivering differentiated learning activities to support individual progress.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, encouraging positive behaviour.
- Support pupils with personal care needs, if required.
- Supervise pupils during break times and lunch periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate updates effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the school's SEN provision.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Prior experience working with children, ideally in education or childcare, is desirable but not essential.
- Patience, understanding, and empathy in addressing diverse pupil needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Adaptability, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications or training, such as a Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training, or first aid certification, would be advantageous.
