PASTORAL SUPPORT WORKER
From March 2025 3 days a week (22.5 hours per week)
Term Time only plus 5 inset days
This is a post created to work alongside our existing staff team to enhance the pastoral support we can offer our children. The role will involve working directly with individual children, small groups of young people and sometimes their families. The main purpose of the position is to work with our pupils aged 4 to 11 and their families to offer practical and emotional support on themes such as friendship, bereavement, self-confidence, healthy eating and resilience to help life chances and to transform lives.
We are looking for someone who has:
* very high expectations of those they work with and serve,
* excellent communication and liaison skills
* experience of working with children and their families in a paid or voluntary capacity
* an understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and experience of working with the agencies that can support them
* knowledge of safeguarding in a school context and willingness to become a designated safeguarding lead
* the ability to work in partnership with children, parents, professionals and the wider community
Whitegrove Primary School is a large, over-subscribed school in north east Bracknell, where excellence and enjoyment are at the heart of the school’s ethos. We have strong links with the local community and have excellent support from our parents. Our children are well-behaved and eager to learn. We were rated as a ‘good’ school in our most recent Ofsted (March 2022).
