The job role Joining our experienced team at our Herreschoff Kiln plant you'll be responsible for leading a small team and taking ownership of the site maintenance day to day; maximising plant and equipment availability. Our Herreschoff Kiln site produces soft calcined kaolin which is produced using continuous multiple hearth calciner technology. This site produces two products - Polestar 200P and Polestar 200R serving high value Pharmaceutical Rubber, Polymers, Paints and Plastic Markets. As a Multi-skilled Engineering Chargehand the main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Carry out routine preventive, corrective & breakdown maintenance Fault finding, diagnostic and installation work Calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems Carry out Risk assessments and ensure all work areas are clean and free from hazards Ordering site spares Working from height and in confined spaces. The site operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; once fully competent, you will be required to join a rota system to provide out-of-hours support. Experience of working with/ on pumps, welding, mills, burners/furnaces/gas, intrusive chemical work and centrifuges is essential.
