The role involves supporting a young professional gentleman with a physiotherapy exercise programme and then a short leisure walk outdoors.
This would give a suitable applicant the experience to work with someone with a neuromuscular condition (cerebral palsy) who has an established and well managed daily exercise plan. The gentleman is ambulant with two sticks indoors.
Location
Gentleman’s family home (Sedgley not far from No 1 and No 27 bus route)
Details of position and tasks:
1. Hours of work – 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
2. Collect and accompany gentleman on a short walk (transport wheelchair in car) either in Sedgley park or Himley Hall.
3. Removing and putting on shoes and AFO leg splints.
4. Manual stretching exercises.
5. Support for client to complete floor exercises.
Training will be provided by family. All exercises being recommended by a qualified physiotherapist.
Essential Requirements
1. Physically fit, car driver, patient and reliable.
2. Have access to your own car.
Salary
£15 per hour (£75 for each weekend).
