We are looking to welcome a motivated and positive new Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to our team on Blenheim Ward!
Blenheim Ward is a 28-bedded ward specialising in Renal and endocrine medicine.
We work closely with a range of multidisciplinary teams and advocate to ensure our patients have the best plan of care for a positive journey throughout their hospital stay.
It is a demanding ward with acute patients transferred from AMU/AECU/A&E/HDU and ITU, but we work closely as a team and deal with the day-to-day pressures with positivity and high levels of energy.

Main duties of the job
You will need to be a motivated team-oriented professional with a passion for delivering high standards of nursing care in an ever-changing environment and work within a multi-professional team; it is essential you communicate effectively within this environment and act in line with the ward's philosophy.
You will have previous experience in a Senior Staff Nurse post or previous deputy ward manager experience.
You will be required to manage the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager and communicate effectively at all levels. Key elements include strong professional leadership qualities, which are critical to delivering the high standard of care our trust requires, a passion to motivate and increase staff morale, and the ability to manage and encourage a learning environment.
Dealing with day-to-day issues that may arise such as staff sickness, roster management, mitigation, complaints, incidents, and audits. You will also be expected to support the ward manager with governance issues, training, and incident management.
