We are seeking a highly experienced and adaptable SEO Strategist to lead our newly formed SEO services team.
You will have clear passion for helping local businesses across all industries, and in multiple countries, win in their local markets.
You will define and oversee a set of scalable and impactful SEO strategies that boost visibility and deliver a positive ROI for our local business and agency customers.
You will be analytical and creative to continuously adapt and evolve these strategies to boost performance and take advantage of the latest trends, market changes, and emerging technologies. You will develop repeatable frameworks for running SEO tests that enhance our service offering and build trust and authority in BrightLocal within the SEO community.
As part of our commitment to excellence in service delivery, you will create and refine playbooks and SOPs to guide the team in executing these strategies efficiently. You will work closely with the SEO Service Delivery team to streamline processes and ensure a balance of quality, efficiency, and profitability. Additionally, you will evaluate new tools and AI solutions that enable faster, more effective results, and serve as an escalation point for customers requiring extra support.
As a team leader, you will manage and mentor senior SEO managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork. You’ll provide regular feedback, run training sessions, and play an active role in recruiting and growing top SEO talent.
Your influence will be felt well beyond your immediate team. Firstly, you will be an internal SEO evangelist, collaborating with other departments to educate and inform SaaS platform development, marketing and research, and supporting the sales team on high-value pitches. Secondly, you will be a public face of BrightLocal, representing us at events and webinars to strengthen our reputation as a thought leader in the industry.

Required Skills and Experience
* You will have extensive experience defining and implementing SEO strategies for local businesses across a wide of range of industries and locations;
* A proven track record in building, managing and developing high-performing SEO teams;
* Demonstrable experience of conceiving and running SEO tests that have delivered tangible growth opportunities for customers;
* Excellent time management and organisation skills that enable you and your team to deliver great work, on time for multiple customers at once;
* A clear ability to work in an agile way and ‘think on your feet’ to deliver effectively on multiple, competing priorities;
* Excellent communication skills and passionate storytelling abilities;
* Confidence and humility that make you convincing and relatable, whether you’re talking 1-on-1 or delivering a keynote presentation;
