FULL TIME (37)/PART-TIME HOURS AVAILABLE
ABERDEEN CITY/SHIRE
Newburn delivers clinical care to circa 45,000 patients across three practice sites with a population demographic covering Aberdeen city centre, a significant population of Aberdeen University students, and the Fyvie/Oldmeldrum population in Aberdeenshire. This allows for an interesting and varied clinical workload.
We are an innovative practice, passionate about supporting our staff to develop and progress in their careers and be the best they can be. We are also passionate about trying new approaches to deliver Primary Care and have a diverse consulting team comprising GPs, ANPs, NPs, and a Pharmacy Team. We are a teaching and GP training Practice with FY2s and GPSTs regularly rotating through the Practice.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Practice Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a passion for clinical experience in order to lead, champion, and develop the nursing workforce and its contribution to the delivery and achievement of person-centred, safe, and effective care within the practice. This is a new post within our practice that offers an exciting opportunity for development. The post holder will be responsible to the Lead Practice Nurse and will deputise to help manage the full nursing team.
Working as a senior member of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively to the patient population. We have successfully built a team of four CTAC Health Care Assistants and 12 Practice Nurses with a range of special interests including Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Stroke, Cardiac, and Contraception.
The suitable candidate will work within their own competence and uphold the professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC. They will need to be an effective clinical role model across all three sites and be an integral part of the clinical workforce, delivering and promoting high standards of care and providing support, assistance, and development for other members of the nursing team.
