Are you a skilled HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Crane Fitter?
You will need a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, like Scania or Volvo trucks, as well as cranes, engines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatics. General maintenance is essential to ensure the fleet keeps running and is out of trouble.
Also, work closely with the OEM maintenance teams for yearly services and issues that may arise.
This is a professional company with a very wide range of kits, from pickers, cranes, and forklifts to HGVs, flatbeds, and HIABs—a large range of plant machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of HGV trucks, trailers, and cranes.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, oil changes, and tyre replacements.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
4. Work efficiently and independently to meet deadlines.
5. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Plant Fitter.
2. An apprenticeship in Mechanics/Automotive/Plant is desired, but official qualifications are a must.
3. Strong knowledge of HGVs, plant machinery, and/or off-highway vehicles.
4. Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. A valid HGV license (Class 1 or 2) is preferred.
Salary:
1. Hourly rate is around £19-£23 an hour, depending on experience.
