We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced supply quality professional to join us in this integral role that supports the supply and quality assurance of materials into our sites and manufacturing operations.
The Supply Quality Engineer will provide a structured and analytical approach to lead supplier development and process improvements within our supply chain, promoting a mutually beneficial working relationship with our suppliers in relation to quality matters.
The successful candidate will work within our Quality team, ensuring that internal processes are followed at all times on the return of rejected products back to suppliers, liaising with other business functions to reach timely resolutions.
Main Responsibilities:
* To carry out on-site auditing and verification of potential new and existing suppliers.
* To ensure Supplier Returns Agreements are developed and approved with key suppliers, to aid in the flow of information across businesses to include Supplier Corrective Action Requests and 8-D Responses.
* To support the Purchasing Department to ensure that all identified new parts/components are approved via the Sample Inspection Report Process, prior to New Product Introduction.
* To effectively analyse, assess and report on supplier defects and issues to continually monitor the quality related performance of key suppliers.
* To report and update progress on raised supplier quality issues via the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) and monthly reviews.
* Support the business in any product change via the Change Document to ensure the business is protected from any disruption caused from unauthorized product change.
Minimum Requirements:
* Good, thorough understanding of current BS EN ISO 9001 specification requirements.
* Awareness in the application of ‘Best Practice’ Techniques – FMEA, SPC/Capability Studies, Total Quality/Kaizen Tools, PFMEA, Gage R&R, Poka Yoke, RCA.
* Able to interpret and describe information from Engineering Drawings.
* Supply Chain Process awareness.
* I.T. Literate - Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Good Awareness of Databases to understand the manipulation of quality data (%, SCAR).
