South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse post within the South Tyneside and Sunderland Tissue Viability service. The service provides wound care advice, support, assessments, education, and training to both hospital sites, community nursing teams, hospices, practice nurses, GPs, residential, and nursing homes.
The Trust aims to be recognised as one of the safest healthcare organisations both nationally and internationally. Reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers which have developed in our care is one of our patient safety priorities within our Quality Strategy (2018-2025). Additionally, wound management is a widespread and often underestimated health problem in the UK, and the effective management of wounds has been determined a national priority with studies indicating that wound prevalence is set to increase due to the increasing aging population over the next 10 years.
Working within the Tissue Viability Team, you will play a key role in providing specialist clinical advice and support to patients and clinical staff in relation to pressure ulcer prevention and wound management.
