Job Description:
About the team
At Pfizer we make medicines and vaccines that change patients' lives with a global reach of over 780 million patients. Pfizer Digital is the organization charged with winning the digital race in the pharmaceutical industry. We apply our expertise in technology, innovation and our business to support Pfizer in this mission.
The Biopharma, Patient & CDI (BPC) team creates technology solutions for our external customers. This includes all digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & devices) products, platforms, services and experiences in service of patients, HCPs, payors, pharmacists, or clinical sites.
Within BPC, the Platform DevOps team are accountable for the platforms at Pfizer that allow the creation, configuration, launch, and support of all externally facing digital products, services, and experiences. This includes our Marketing Technology (Martech) platform.
Our mission over the next few years is to change how customer data is managed, from fragmented implementations to a coherent customer-data ecosystem of services dedicated to the collection and management of profiles, consents and organized data. We also aim to improve the marketer experience and to improve patient outcomes through tools that enable our marketing teams to create finely tuned, intelligent and relevant audiences.
Role Summary
We seek a leader to join our team and be the Engineering Lead for two critical areas within our overall offering:
1. Journey Orchestration & Campaign Building Service
2. Channel Activation Services
In this leadership and management role, you will act as visionary and executor of these technical services. You will lead teams totaling 10-20 colleagues and contract resources to understand the business contexts, solve complex engineering problems, craft the technical designs and ensure a successful delivery of high-quality products and services from inception to completion. This role requires exceptional technical knowledge and experience in the modern MarTech space, strong management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
You will be accountable for delivery of security-and privacy-first capabilities while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work. This role requires a mix of strategic thought, negotiation/influencing, planning, team management, and delivery management.
Responsibilities
The core responsibility for this role is to ensure that all business needs identified for your Journey Orchestration, Campaign Building and Channel Activation services are met and managed. Your purview encompasses all product, project and service roadmaps, in partnership with leaders from within our Chief Marketing Office (CMO).
Key to the success of this role is your ability to leverage your extensive MarTech engineering experience to understand the landscape, influence strategy, make good decisions and deliver on them as part of the wider CRM and Customer Data ecosystem and architecture.
You will work with your CMO and other partners to craft product roadmap, bringing your extensive MarTech engineering experience to bear to shape requirements and delivery plans.
Service Delivery and DevOps culture
Key to the success of this role is the ability to design and run the operating model for the services. You need to ensure the successful operation of these services, their reliability, uptime, and that they are consistently fit for purpose, well configured and operated securely.
You will also need to manage incidents when they arise through carefully prepared processes and thoughtful vendor management. Success in this role will be measured not just by performance of applications under scope, but by the culture of quality that is created throughout the team.
Management duties
You will manage Pfizer colleagues, technology vendors and a multi-national team of on/near/off-shore resources. You need to be an experienced people leader, with the ability to collaborate and influence across Platform DevOps, Chief Marketing Office and Pfizer Digital.
Finance Management
This role will require excellent financial management capability with responsibility for portions of a multi-million-dollar budget and multiple service contracts.
