Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS Practitioner with a specialist interest in transition. The role will cover Gwynedd & Ynys Mon CAMHS, working closely with area teams and the Transition Lead to develop and improve transition across the service, including inpatient services. There is opportunity to work regionally with service development and improvement as well as working with the CAMHS Patient experience team to improve lived experience of transition.
You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, sharing our passion for innovation and continuous service improvement. This is a new role and you will have the opportunity to evolve and develop the priorities as set out within the Transition improvement steering group. You will need excellent relationship building and engagement skills.
Knowledge of both Child Mental Health Services and Adult Mental Health Services would be advantageous. However, we are also keen to hear from candidates from other clinical specialities who can demonstrate transferable skills.
Main duties of the job
If successful, you will be joining an innovative and welcoming multidisciplinary service covering both Gwynedd and Ynys Mon areas. The successful candidate will work directly with children and young people and their families and will be involved in Choice (assessment) and Partnership (intervention) as well as linking in with inpatient services where needed. Part of the role will involve securing strong links with partner agencies across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon and where necessary, out of area agencies.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge
* Professional Qualification and Registration as follows: NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse OR NMC Registered Learning Disability Nurse OR Social Care (Wales or England) Registered Social Worker. Transfer of registration from England to Wales to occur within 3 months of appointment OR HCPC registered Occupational Therapist OR HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
* Eligible to practice under the mental health measure Wales 2010.
* Post grad diploma or relevant knowledge, training and experience in the specialist field of mental health.
* Excellent knowledge of mental health problems that affect children and young people.
* Excellent knowledge of family dynamics and issues relating to working with families.
* Understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches.
* Knowledge and appreciation of national policies.
Desirable criteria
* Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach.
* Specific, targeted, evidence based interventions e.g. EMDR.
* Formal qualification in a relevant field e.g. Child Development, Mental Health etc.
* Understanding of service structures and inter-agency working.
* Knowledge of specific disorders / conditions relevant to CAMHS.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Relevant post registration experience of working in a health or social care environment or mental health setting.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS.
* Previous specialist CAMHS experience.

* Able to carry out mental health assessments autonomously through appropriate questioning, observations and accurate recording.
