It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence in 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Risk Manager to work as part of our Legal Team. This role will involve assisting the General Counsel & Company Secretary in identifying, assessing, project managing the mitigation of risk, and coordinating the response to risks associated with all aspects of the Sheffield Forgemasters organisation.
Role Responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of the Risk Community of Practice monthly meetings.
2. Collaborate with, support and update all stakeholders on KRIs, mitigations and risk heatmaps.
3. Support the coordination and management of risk mitigation initiatives and projects.
4. Support the maintenance and development of risk related analysis, including root cause analysis.
5. Support the fine-tuning and alignment of risk policies, practices and procedures across Sheffield Forgemasters.
6. Act as the principal point of contact for all risk related issues and risk updates for all stakeholders.
7. Manage and resolve conflicting points of view between competing stakeholders to achieve acceptable resolutions.
8. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required:
1. Specialist project and/or risk management qualification.
2. Risk, project and stakeholder management experience.
3. Confident dealing with a wide range of legal and non-legal issues.
4. Experience working in a manufacturing or operational environment.
5. Ability to identify, analyse, assess and mitigate operational and commercial risk.
6. Ability to review large amounts of data and information to evaluate issues and provide clear and concise advice and recommendations.
7. Strong relationship building skills, at all levels.
8. Competent IT skills, specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Days/Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.
