Platform Support Engineer required for a leading broadcasting and media company in Buckinghamshire who are looking for someone to join a close-knit team who support a wide range of bespoke software applications for both internal and external users.
Our client are looking for someone to both handle escalations from the Service Desk team and also to identify any opportunities to improve and strengthen the application estate and platform they are built on, reducing scope for potential incidents. The application portfolio has been predominately built using Java programming language, but a smaller number were also using C#.Net.
Essential Skillset:
* Strong experience supporting bespoke software applications
* Strong experience implementing, monitoring, and alerting of solutions
* Experience working in an Azure Environment
* Experience with basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
* Problem solving and proactive mindset
Desirable experience:
* Middleware or messaging system knowledge (i.e. IBM MQ, Red Hat AMQ, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.)
