The person holding this position will report to the Site Head of Supply. The Procurement Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring Material availability to support the production schedule. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, and acting as Subject Matter Expert in supporting other business functions as required. Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule. Check and confirm prices for UK and BV materials and escalate discrepancies to supplier and global purchasing team. Manage the complete PPOC process (Printed Packaging Order Centre). This will include Monthly collating of scheduled orders for all printed cartons, sorting by profile and combining orders to achieve the best price breaks for Norgine. Raise contract orders for UK and BV materials. Down date all orders with call off manually. Prepare monthly review of cost break by size profile and send to purchasing BV. Liaise with supplier regarding any stock write off review supplier stocks against true stock order and inform them of any discrepancies to reduce the costs for Norgine UK and BV. Raise non stock purchase orders to arrange destruction at Supplier. Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes. Set priorities when demand outstrips the Suppliers’ supply of components/raw materials or the resource necessary to make the requested material. Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times. To be able to extract relevant data from Reports Now and put into presentation format and confidently present this information to supply chain managers for monthly, quarterly and yearly budget/financial planning by supplier and product groups. Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development. Attend weekly review meetings with Global artwork, Global Finance and Data Management to phase in new products whilst reducing/eliminating write off costs. Manage the inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations remaining compliant with customer/partner quality agreements. Review supplier capacities as part of catastrophe planning and adjust safety stock levels to ensure on time in full deliveries to the Hengoed site. To be 1st point of contact for all Norgine Hengoed material suppliers. Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including Production Planning and Batch Document management and other duties as assigned. Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time and safety stocks). Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options. To be a super user within Enterprise one (E1) for all aspects of material planning and batch documentation to support future system updates with IT system team. Ensure and promote compliance to relevant Company and Procurement policies and procedures. Inside the Company Develop an excellent working relationship on site with operations, Quality, scheduling, finance and logistics team. Work closely with Norgine global supply chain team especially in the areas of Global Purchasing, Finance and External Network departments. Outside the Company Manage and further develop excellent working relationships with key suppliers, transport companies and related quality teams. Work with current and new suppliers to support the continued growth from the Hengoed site whilst supporting current supplier planning methods and working with suppliers on developing improvements and best practice. Site visits to supplier will be required in this role. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Requires excellent knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards) or equivalent ERP stock management system. Must have the ability to work under pressure, to tight timescales and be able to prioritise your workload accordingly. Numerate and an analytical thinker and have the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally. Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret and format data.
