This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for art and design, and a commitment to fostering creativity and excellence in students. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Art and Design for students of varying abilities. Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the arts. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues to support the broader goals of the school and participate in departmental and school-wide activities. Engage with parents and carers to support students' learning and development. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications. A degree in Art, Design, or a related field. Proven experience teaching Art and Design at secondary school level. A strong portfolio demonstrating personal art and design work. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices. Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one. Desirable: Experience in using a variety of teaching methods and innovative approaches to engage students. A track record of achieving excellent results in Art and Design examinations. Experience in organizing extracurricular activities and art exhibitions. Familiarity with the use of digital tools and technology in art education.
