About the Role
AUAR is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our automation team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in installing and commissioning our state-of-the-art robotic Micro-Factory cells. Your work will involve pre-assembling a number of components in our space in London as well as working on-site at our Customer’s location - fitting mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and electrical components, ensuring all systems are built to our high standards of quality and precision. This role requires an eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and a willingness to work in diverse locations, depending on customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies with high precision, following detailed specifications and engineering drawings.
* Install, connect and test pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems.
* Perform fitting, alignment, and adjustment of parts and subassemblies.
* Use hand and power tools effectively, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.
* Conduct thorough testing and inspection to ensure assemblies meet quality and functionality requirements.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies or issues during the assembly process, taking the initiative to propose improvements.
* Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure smooth workflows and technical solutions.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, following company and customer procedures.
* Maintain a clean, organised work area and contribute to a positive and efficient team environment.
About You
* Proven experience in the assembly of automated equipment or similar machinery.
* Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
* Experience with measure/marking out factory equipment.
* Familiarity with specific automation components (e.g., sensors, actuators).
* Experience with precision measurement tools.
* Experience with power hand tools (e.g. SDS drills, angle grinder).
* Forklift experience.
* Experience working with external contractors e.g. electrical contractors.
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to be on-site in London or a customer’s site (UK or EU) during the working week.
* Right to work in the UK.
What We Offer
* Initial Contract Period 24th March - 2nd May (give or take a week).
* Location: Variable across the UK and the Netherlands.
* Rate: Day rate based on experience + all expenses covered.
* 5-day working weeks (includes travel time).
* 8 am-5 pm (local time).
* Although this is initially a short-term contract, there is potential for the role to evolve into a longer-term arrangement or even a full-time position based on performance and company needs.
