Mechanical and Electrical Engineer
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
£40,000k- £45,000, 6am-2.30pm
As an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer you will ensure that all equipment works and is running safely and efficiently, using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
* You'll inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment. To install, service and maintain electrical installations in domestic and commercial properties to a high quality standard in accordance with the current edition of Wiring Regulations
* To undertake routine maintenance and servicing to electrical installations to the standards required by the IET
* Investigate plant failures (general, electrical and mechanical) and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. (This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents)
* Provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required
* Create and conduct preventive maintenance activities to extend the lifespan of electrical equipment and systems
* Maintenance of all relevant documentation and records
* PAT testing and completion of records and documentation
* Lease with external contractors where required
* Lease with insurance inspectors when required
* Design and build processing jigs and fixtures. Demonstrate mechanical and workshop skills and experience. Use of stainless steel, copper, titanium and mild steel
* General duties as required
Person Specification
Essential
* Level 3+ Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
* Fully conversant with the current IET Wiring Regulations
* Prior experience of working within an electrical/mechanical engineering environment
* Ability to communicate on a one to one basis and produce information in a written form including completion of necessary documentation
* Ability to understand and interpret work instructions, drawings and schematic diagrams
* Ability to trace, diagnose and rectify faults
* Ability to use appropriate test and measuring equipment
* Must possess a valid Full Driving Licence
* Must be prepared to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding and work in confined spaces and in a variety of work conditions
* Must be able to participate in emergency service involving working outside normal working hours as and when required
* Must be prepared to undertake additional training associated with the specific requirements of the trade as and when required
