We have a new opportunity for an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our friendly team on a fixed term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rheumatology Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team, delivering holistic care to patients with rheumatological conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, secondary fibromyalgia, and psoriatic arthritis.
Applicants will require sound moving and handling skills, good problem solving, prioritization, and excellent communication. Experience of splinting and chronic pain would be advantageous. The ideal applicant will hold a full driver's license and have their own means of transport.

Job responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with good interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-motivation to join our friendly team, supporting patients with rheumatological conditions. Key responsibilities include:
1. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to integrate therapeutic input into patients' overall care plans.
2. Providing comprehensive assessment and therapy sessions, including exercise and education groups, 1:1 patient and carer education, and the provision of bespoke and pre-fabricated splints or adaptive equipment.
3. Supporting patients and carers by providing clear explanations about diagnoses, treatment plans, and the impact on lifestyle.
4. Using motivational and negotiation skills to encourage adherence to treatment goals and lifestyle adjustments.
5. Managing your own caseload under supervision, identifying patient needs, and tailoring care plans in collaboration with the team.
6. Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to infection control policies.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to provide compassionate care, and previous experience in a healthcare support role. The post offers opportunities for professional development, flexible working arrangements, and the benefits of an NHS role.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees, this post could be a secondment opportunity.
