Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial and cost management of a project or portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Project Commercial Manager, the role involves overseeing all aspects of commercial performance, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and working closely with the Delivery Team to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Cost Management:
Manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely information to support commercial decisions.
Contractual Compliance:
Ensure all project team members, including site-based staff, have a clear understanding of the contractual obligations and frameworks to meet client and partner organisation requirements.
Collaboration & Efficiency:
Work collaboratively with the Delivery Team to identify, implement and monitor efficiency plans throughout the project lifecycle to maximise value.
Reporting & Analysis:
Maintain robust cost management processes with accurate reporting, data analysis, and financial summaries, including regular updates for internal and client reporting purposes.
Records & Documentation:
Ensure the preparation and maintenance of proper records, including variations and final accounts, to provide clear audit trails and support cost assurance processes.Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a Senior QS role within the construction or infrastructure sector.
Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC, JCT, and/or bespoke client agreements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Skilled in producing financial reports and cost forecasting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
Proficient in the use of commercial and project management software/tools.Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent.
Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) or working towards chartership is desirable.
