* This role willrequire you to establish and maintain (through the projectlifecycle) the frameworks, plans, processes and engineeringapproach required on the FCAS project to undertake Reliability,Maintainability & Testability (R,M & T) engineering andanalysis
You will be managing a relationshipbetween the engineering capability teams and engineering centralfunction to influence the current and longer-term skills, processesand tools needed for R, M & T engineering on a next generationplatform. Including by maintaining an awareness of latest changesand developments in standards, international specifications,toolsets and recognisedmethods A requirement for this role isacting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by representing theSupportability Engineering team at broader technical reviews,integration activities and planningevents It is expected that you will be ableto provide technical R, M & T engineering guidance, advice,mentoring and support to junior or less experienced engineers inthe team You will undertake R,M & Tanalysis and engineering tasks to influence the design and futuresustainment of platforms and systems so that they are inherentlysupportable in their intended use within the constraints of theoperation andenvironment Ensuring the alignment between R,M& T engineering, safety engineering and human factorsengineering in any R,M & T analysis activitiesundertaken
Your skillsandexperiences:
* Degree qualified ina relevant engineering field (or demonstrable professionalexperience working in a relevant engineeringroles)
Detailed knowledge of the principlesof Reliability, Availability, Maintainability andTestability Experience of applying at leastseveral of the following R, M & T engineering tools /techniques / approaches on complex programmes: Failure Modes,Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), R, M & TAllocation, Prediction & Modelling of complex systems(including reliability block diagrams) & Reliability CenteredMaintenance (RCM)
* Knowledge and experience in applyinginternational and/or military standards and specifications relevantto R,M & T engineering (e.g. ASD/AIA S-Series Specifications,MSG-3, Def-Stan 00-40 series, Def-Stan00-045)
Good IT Skills, including MS Officebut also experience working with digital engineeringtools
