Construction Associate
About the Role:
A leading law firm in London is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Associate with 2-6 years PQE to join its non-contentious construction team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile construction projects and advise a prestigious client base that includes developers, funders, contractors, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, development agreements, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, and performance bonds.
- Working closely with clients across the property and construction sectors on complex construction projects from inception to completion.
- Providing legal advice on standard forms of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC, as well as bespoke agreements.
- Supporting clients on risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements in construction projects.
- Liaising with other legal teams, including property, finance, and corporate, to provide comprehensive legal support on large-scale developments.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, delivering commercially focused and practical advice.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales with 2 to 6 years PQE in non-contentious construction law.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of construction documents, including standard forms of contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.).
- A solid understanding of the construction industry and its commercial drivers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong client relationships.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach, with the ability to manage your workload independently when needed.
- Commercial awareness and a problem-solving mindset to deliver practical solutions to clients.
