Are you a statutory qualified Metrology specialist, who has the technical experience and skills to deliver our statutory obligations. Our Metrology Team within the Trading Standards Service is a specialised team working alongside other teams including food standards, and we deliver essential statutory services to a variety of businesses and external stakeholders. Our role is to advise, guide and encourage legal compliance, with enforcement when necessary, to protect both the businesses and consumers within Lancashire. We are seeking an experienced Metrology expert to professionally advise local businesses to be compliant with legal obligations required under the Weights and Measures Act 1985 – with your technical expertise you will make critical judgements to influence and encourage local businesses to comply with their statutory obligations to avoid enforcement – in this challenging role we will require you to influence businesses accordingly to any requirements or recommendations made – so if you have a proven track record in metrology, then don’t hesitate to apply… As a methodical and analytical thinker you will record and analyse metric's, consider timescales and plan accordingly to gather any data you require – you'll understand the importance of accuracy, attention to detail and review data to inform future projects or to produce reports to highlight common themes.
