Community Use Duty Officer (Sports & Leisure)

* Pay: Grade 3, Point 7 (Range: Grade 3, Point 7 – 9) - Hourly rate: £13.26
The Opportunity?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Use Duty Officer (Sports & Leisure) to join our growing Community Use Team.
On each shift you will act as the first point of contact for our hirers and Fitness Suite users, providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere across the College facilities during Community Use hours.
There will also be regular opportunities for additional hours to facilitate holiday cover and Auditorium hires.
The role will involve securing the site and ensuring the appropriate Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.
At present, we are able to offer up to 9 regular hours per week (this will ideally include one 4.5 hour weekend shift each week), with additional hours offered as required to suit the business need. The current Sports Education Centre opening hours are:
* Monday to Thursday: 17:15 to 21:45
* Saturday: 08:45 to 13:15
* Sunday: 08:45 to 13:15
Level 2 Fitness Instructor Qualification is desirable and will be supported as part of the role development.

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth; Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13.

We require a Community Use Duty Officer (Sports & Leisure) who has:
* Experience in working in a Sports & Leisure / Health & Fitness setting
* Proficient Administration and IT skills
