Marie Curie are seeking a self motivated Healthcare Assistant to work within a community team in the North-West. This vacancy is for someone to join our bank in order to pick up night shifts in the Bolton area. If you are looking for extra hours on top of a current contract, or just looking for a regular shift or two per week, then this could be the perfect role for you!

As a Healthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.

Marie Curie is the UKs leadingend-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care inthe UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursingand hospice care across the country, while providing information and support onall aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Ourleading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life,and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the bestpossible quality of life while living with an illness, they're likely to diefrom.
The care and support we provide ishighly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present weare only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do notget the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to join our community-basedteam in Bolton, North-West.
Hours: Bank (minimum of hours per month) for our night shift team.
Base: within 25 miles of your home address. Travelling to the LiverpoolHospice may be required from time-to-time.
In this role, you will work alongsidea multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, care planning, review andevaluation of holistic care management plans individual to each patient.
As this is a community-based role,you will be responsible for planning your own work, responding to changes inpatient conditions, prioritising care needs (including hygiene, nutrition andhydration, comfort, monitoring vitals, and more) as detailed in thepersonalised care plan and ensuring you escalate appropriately to senior staffwithin the multidisciplinary team in a timely manner.
Whatwere looking for:
1. National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 inHealth and Social Care OR an equivalent alternative Level 2 Qualification.
2. Minimum of 6 months care delivery experiencein a Health or Social Care Environment.
3. Knowledge and understanding of how to deliverperson centred care and the components of open and sensitive communication
4. Willingness to undertake work during the night, asadvertised
5. Proficient IT skills including knowledge ofMicrosoft Office
6. Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
7. Flexibility to work across different projects andservices across the North-West, if required
