Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area.
This will be as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team within a Group Practice delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel and trainees; the Group Practice is formed of six sites in the Portsmouth area and physiotherapist may be required to work occasionally across the sites.
Job responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners, and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
* Using clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon current evidence, best practice guidelines, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment and a good understanding of their condition in order to maximise rehabilitation potential.
* Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
