The Role
ALS Laboratories are looking for a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 to support their Taste and Odour department at ALS Coventry. Laboratory Analysts require a good mix of skills.
The person will be responsible for running the taste and odour panel with our internal volunteers, ensuring procedures are followed to effectively and accurately test samples, and record results, while also being willing to taste and smell potable samples themselves.
The right candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and be able to closely follow instructions. This role would be a great starting point for somebody looking to begin their career in Environmental Sciences!
We are looking for an energetic individual, with a positive attitude and outgoing personality that can work well in a small team and communicate well.

Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Monday – Friday (07:00 – 15:00)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Salary: £22,549 per annum
The day to day
* Understand customer requirements.
* Ensure samples are completed efficiently and effectively following all processes, procedures, and legislation.
* Deliver on key performance indicators, assisting team members to achieve work objectives.
* Report analytical data for a range of Taste and Odour methods.
* Proactively ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
The Essentials
* Qualifications required are 5 GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to new Grade 4) or above to include Science, Maths and English and an A level or equivalent in a scientific subject.
* Client-focused service delivery.

* Computer literate.

* Ability to plan and organise own work area.
