The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarises, plans and forecasts the organisation's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, Tax and Valuation Review.
The role will reside within the Finance Division, under the Finance Risk and Assurance function that supports the overall Finance Operational Risk agenda.
Finance Business Continuity implements an adaptive risk-based program and methodology that ensures Finance's business continuity capability is fit for purpose through tests and exercises in order to protect the Firm's assets, facilitate the life safety of employees, and enable operational resilience.
The broader Finance Risk agenda includes, but is not limited to, Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) governance and reporting, Information Security Governance, Supplier Risk and Control Validation in addition to other operational risk-related topics. This dynamic position offers the candidate an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure and learn about various processes across the Finance division.
What will you be doing?
* Provide support in developing & standardising, coordinating, communicating and testing the business continuity planning process across all functions within Finance.
* Assist in deployment of new business continuity tooling, including undertaking user acceptance testing and cascade of training across functional area where required.
* Perform ongoing risk analysis to determine which business processes, systems, and applications need to be recovered within the indicated time frame to comply with corporate and regulatory recovery time objectives of the organisation.
* Assist with risk assessments and due diligence efforts pertaining to critical suppliers and 3rd party vendors.
* Track metrics and coordinate reporting to project working groups and senior management and other stakeholders.
* Monitor and respond to Regulatory requests e.g. PRA, EBA Remediation etc.
* Provide crisis management support response to regional and global crisis events that could impact Finance and its 4Ps (People, Processes, Premises, 3rd Parties), escalating and managing incidents in coordination with Firm stakeholders and Finance Management where necessary.
* Communicate and work alongside a diverse group of professionals in Finance and across the Firm.
* Assist in various ad-hoc and broader Finance Risk agenda topics.

* Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to summarise and present results back within an agreed timeline.
* Critical dependency on strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with key stakeholders and Senior Management.
* Intellectual curiosity with a focus on information sharing.
* Critical thinking in order to challenge processes, solve for ad hoc queries and creativity to suggest alternative approaches.
* Strong relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders of varying seniority across Finance and other divisions.
* Proficiency with data management, End User Computing Tools (spreadsheets and databases) and other standard computing applications (PowerPoint and Word).
* Flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Time management and organisational skills enabling the achievement of tight deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks.
