The project:
The Stansted Transformation Programme of Works seeks to develop and expand the Stansted airport campus to facilitate an increase in capacity requirements to meet MAG’s forecast passenger numbers (43mppa).
The APV & Sky Links forms part of Phase A of the programme of works and is critical for the retirement of the track transit system (TTS) to enable the Northern Terminal Extension (the NEX Project).

4. You will guide daily activities of the team of design management resources for project/s.
5. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of design management to deliver key strategic outcomes & subfunction KPIs, directly influencing strategic development.
6. You will be a point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
7. Assisting the design team through the RIBA 4 design stage and the delivery team through into implementation and handover.
8. Representing the project team at client review meetings.
9. Developing a detailed design programme with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements.
10. Reviewing and commenting on the design for completeness, buildability, potential quality issues, potential lead time problems, scope packaging and other similar issues in conjunction with the Mace project team.
11. Chairing co-ordination meetings with sub-contractors during design development.
12. Chairing/attending regular internal design meetings at which all new drawings, design team and sub-contractors, are reviewed and marked up with members of the Mace project team.
13. Actioning comments generated at internal design meeting including list of instructions for sub-contractors.
14. Assisting the construction managers in all design issues as and when required.
15. Managing the RFI and NCR process.
16. Closing out all design manager gateways in line with Mace's internal process.
17. Managing engagement with building control and CDM and building regulations processes related to mace’s principal designer role.
18. Ensuring design is compliant with statutory requirements and applicable standards.

You’ll need to have:
25. You have a good understanding of the full construction design process.
26. DFMA or MMC experience is preferred.
27. Aviation experience is preferred.
28. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
29. Experience in the principal designer role under CDM and building regulations is desirable, awareness of the duties is required.
