About the role As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing team in sourcing and managing the supply of premium beers, ciders, and soft drinks to meet our customer demands. You will work closely with our suppliers, sales, and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels, competitive pricing, and timely deliveries, contributing directly to our growth objectives. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for the drinks industry, who thrives in a fast-moving environment, is quick to adapt, and is keen to build a successful career in purchasing within the wholesale sector. This role would suit someone who has been working in the hospitality industry for 1-2 years or has buying experience in another industry. Role Responsibility Product Sourcing & Supplier Management : Assist in sourcing premium beverages and maintaining strong supplier relationships for competitive terms and availability. Stock Management : Monitor inventory, optimise turnover, and ensure timely replenishment. Market Analysis : Research trends and competitors to recommend new products and improve the range. Pricing & Negotiations : Support supplier negotiations for cost-effective purchasing. Order Management : Place and track orders, resolving any delivery issues. Collaboration : Coordinate with sales, marketing, and logistics teams to meet customer needs. Reporting : Prepare purchasing reports and forecasts to support strategy. You will need Experience & Knowledge: Some buying or purchasing experience, ideally in alcohol or FMCG. Passion for the drinks industry and quick learners welcomed. Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Personality: Energetic, adaptable, team-oriented, and self-motivated with a desire for growth. Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
